Kitchens

At Coloma Outdoor Discovery School we know how important comfort food is on trips away from home! Our kitchen staff provides filling, familiar, kid-friendly fare such as pancake breakfasts, deli lunches, spaghetti night and taco bars. We also care about kids health and the sustainability of our planet, so we go the extra mile to provide wholesome, organic ingredients whenever possible. Local and organic produce is provided from Bee Love Farms (our Eco-campus location) and from Coloma Valley farmers. Food waste and paper products are composted and utilized at local farms. This compost provides nutrients to crops that will return back to our kitchens. You will be pleased to find a local bounty salad bar or fruit bowl at every meal. We offer organic milk and milk alternatives... and because we care about the brave adults who keep an eye on the kiddos over night, coffee is available to parent chaperones 24 hours a day.

Bee Love Farms

Coloma Outdoor Discovery School partners with Bee Love Farms to offer a cutting edge Eco Science Exploration Experience! Just a short walking distance from the CODS campus, Bee Love Farms is a small regenerative style farm and learning garden that uses biodynamic and permaculture techniques to grow the most nutritive produce possible. Bee Love Farms is dedicated to cultivating connections between people and their local ecosystems by pursuing community food security, fostering agricultural and ecological diversity, and teaching the arts of sustainable living.
