Save the Dates! Outdoor Education Experience - Linking NGSS to Your Classroom
Coloma Outdoor Discovery School (CODS) in partnership with the El Dorado County Office of Education is facilitating a teacher outdoor education experience.
Over the course of two days, teachers will have the opportunity to explore science topics in an outdoor setting, while learning how to link the Next Generation Science Standards to the classroom. Workshops include:
- Keynote with Kimberly “Shining Star” Petree
- Activities to Teach Cycles - Nutrient Cycles
- Sampling and Data Collection/Identification - Pond Macro Investigation
- Environmental Gallery Walk – Geology Levee Walk
Participants will have the opportunity to test their skills on the rope course, gold panning and raft down the American River (available through W.E.T. for $77-85/person).
Minimum of 15 participants Registration Closes April 30th at 5:00 p.m.
